Part II of rivalry week coincides with the Thanksgiving holiday, which means great football all throughout the week. Among the top games in the country are a couple of southeast rivalries pitting the ACC against the SEC. Florida State will visit Florida on Saturday afternoon, marking the first time Gator head coach Urban Meyer will battle FSU's Bobby Bowden. Later Saturday night, Georgia heads about an hour west towards Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech, fresh off an upset win on the road at Miami last weekend.

SCS.com The Seminoles, though somewhat limping towards the finish, will represent the ACC's Atlantic Division in the ACC title game next weekend. Florida finished a game behind Georgia in the SEC East standings and will therefore miss out on the SEC championship game in Atlanta next Saturday.

Though the seasons have been slightly disappointing for both squads, there is still plenty of fuel to ignite the fire. This is undoubtedly one of the most intense in-state rivalries in all of America, and nothing leads me to believe that this won't be another hard-fought, down-to-the-wire shootout. The road team has won the last two FSU/UF matchups, and riding a two-game losing streak, the Seminoles desperately need some momentum before their matchup with Virginia Tech next weekend. They'll get it with a close win in Gainesville.

(11) Georgia at Georgia Tech

SCS.com In the biggest upset of the past weekend and perhaps one of the biggest upsets of the entire season, Georgia Tech took down a Miami team ranked among the top five in the country on the road last Saturday. That should provide a huge boost of momentum as the Jackets return home to Atlanta to face a Bulldog team that will again be in town next weekend, then for an appearance in the SEC championship game.

If you are looking for just one reason to watch this one, here it is: you'll see two of the most athletic and exciting QBs in the country in GT's Reggie Ball and UGA's D.J. Shockley. With the exception of a road game at Virginia Tech back in late September, Georgia Tech has generally played its best against the best competition this season. Georgia, meanwhile, has dropped two of their last three games by a combined five points, and like FSU in the game above, the Dawgs need some confidence before taking on either Auburn or LSU next weekend. UGA has won four straight in this series and will - just barely - make it five straight over the Jackets.

Toledo at Bowling Green

SCS.com If things fall right, this could be a preview of the MAC title game next weekend. The Rockets blew a big chance last week against NIU and now need to win this game on the road and have the Huskies knocked off by WMU. A Falcon win puts BGSU in the title game.

Western Michigan at Northern Illinois

SCS.com This is a matchup of two of the tri-leaders in the MAC West, the other leader being Toledo. A NIU win puts the Huskies in next week's title game, while a WMU victory and a Toledo loss to Bowling Green would put the Broncos in the championship game.

SCS.com The Mountaineers are the lone remaining team without a conference loss in the Big East and hold their BCS destiny in their own hands. A win in the Backyard Brawl Thursday night means WVU is guaranteed at least a share of the 2005 Big East title.

SCS.com The Aggies have a chance to shock the nation this weekend on their home field. Not only would a win over the Longhorns send the BCS minds into a frenzy and knock rival Texas out of the national title game, TAMU would then be bowl eligible at 6-5.

Maryland at NC State

SCS.com The idea here is simple: winner goes bowling, loser stays home. Both squads sit at 5-5 heading into this weekend, but the pair has combined to lose four of their last six games. NCSU appears to have a bit more momentum and the homefield advantage.

SCS.com How will the Bulldogs react after coming so close to defeating USC but coming up short? FSU is still the lone unbeaten in WAC play, but Nevada and Boise State have just one loss themselves. A Wolfpack win could create a three-way tie atop the standings.

SCS.com Walt Harris, while at Pittsburgh, got the best of the Irish last season. Now at Stanford, he has a chance to end the Irish's BCS hopes and also send his team to a bowl game for the first time in several years. Cardinal keep it close, but ND is just too much.
