Teams continue to separate themselves from the pack all across the country as the calendar prepares to roll over to the month of February. The Big East will play host to a pair of the upcoming week's biggest contests, as league-leading Pittsburgh travels to Villanova on Monday before Syracuse welcomes in Notre Dame on Tuesday. Wednesday features a number of must-see matchups, like Ohio State's trip to Purude, red-hot Vanderbilt's visit to top-ranked Florida, and Big Ten-leading Wisconsin's venture to Indiana. The Pac-10's top two teams, UCLA and Oregon, wrap the week up with a huge showdown Thursday evening. MUST-SEE GAMES Pittsburgh at Villanova The Panthers have just one league loss and are the odds-on favorite in the Big East, but the Wildcats aren't playing bad as of late. They had won three in a row before dropping a hard-fought contest at Notre Dame this past weekend. Notre Dame at Syracuse Speaking of the Irish, they're right in the thick of things among those teams trying to play catch-up with Pittsburgh in the Big East standings. Both teams have already picked up three conference losses and would hate to get another this early on. Ohio State at Purdue The Buckeyes nearly let one slip away from them Saturday against Michigan State but now get a chance to regroup as they head on the road to face a tough Boilers team. Purdue could get back to .500 in Big Ten play with a win here after their weekend victory over Illinois. Vanderbilt at Florida There may not be a team in the country any hotter than Vanderbilt right now. The 'Dores have won four straight, three of those over ranked teams. Speaking of ranking teams, though, the Gators continue to top the polls as the best team in America and have yet to lose a SEC contest. Wisconsin at Indiana The Badgers are the last remaining Big Ten team without a conference loss, but keeping that unbeaten streak intact on the road at Indiana will be no easy task. The Hoosiers have won six of their last seven and would be just a game out first with a victory Wednesday evening. Texas at Texas Tech Though the Red Raiders took one on the chin at Missouri over the weekend, they've proven to be a very tough outing at home in recent weeks with wins over the likes of Texas A&M and Kansas. Can Rick Barnes' young squad go in and still a win? Oregon at UCLA The best two teams in the Pac-10 meet in Los Angeles to cap the week off Thursday evening. Though the Ducks did drop one at Washington last week, it was without star Aaron Brooks in the lineup. UCLA themselves lost one on the road at Stanford.
