GUARD
Tim Smith, East Tennessee State
Smith, one of the most electrifying point guards in all of college hoops, led the Bucs to a first round win over Furman on Wednesday. The junior poured in 37 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the game. The Newport News, VA native also dished out four assists and had four steals.
Runner-Up: John Lucas, Oklahoma State : 27 PTS, 5-8 3PT
GUARD
J.J. Redick, Duke
Redick, one of the premier shooting guards in all the land, had another great game Thursday against Miami. The junior scored 29 points on the evening, including 18 from behind the arc. The Roanoke, VA native made each free-throw attempt, grabbed a rebound, and dished out four assists.
Runner-Up: Taquan Dean, Louisville : 27 PTS, 6-11 3PT
FORWARD
Larry O'Bannon, Louisville
O'Bannon played his last home game at Louisville on Thursday, and it was an event he won't soon forget. The senior rammed home 33 points thanks to a five of nine performance from downtown. The Louisville native also had four rebounds, two steals, and a pair of assists.
Runner-Up: Mike Wilkinson, Wisconsin : 28 PTS, 9 REB
FORWARD
Wayne Simien, Kansas
Simien had one of the best nights of his career on Wednesday as the Jayhawks knocked off rival Kansas State. The senior scored 25 points and pulled down a remarkable 20 boards in the victory. The Leavenworth, KS native nailed his only three-point shot and missed only one free-throw.
Runner-Up: Charlie Villanueva, Connecticut : 24 PTS, 7 REB
CENTER
Sean May, North Carolina
May had a huge game on Thursday as the Tar Heels knocked off Florida State in the ACC. The junior poured in 32 points and missed only two of his fifteen shots all night. The Bloomington, IN native also grabbed twelve rebounds and had one steal and one blocked shot.
Runner-Up: Eric Williams, Wake Forest : 21 PTS, 9 REB
