FINAL WEEK OF FEBRUARY BRINGS NEW BUBBLE LIST
February 27, 2008

SCS.comAs the end of the regular season comes to a near, the NCAA Tournament field only gets more confusing. While teams like Kent State and Kentucky are winning games and showing that they deserve to be in, some Texas schools (Baylor and Texas A&M, specifically) are making the selection committee doubt them. All in all, every team has two to four regular season games left, along with a conference tournament, where they can show for one last time that they have what it takes to wear the Cinderella Slipper.

TEAMS THAT ARE IN (39)

ACC (4)- North Carolina, Duke, Miami (FL), Clemson
Big East (7)- Connecticut, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh, West Virginia
Big Ten (4)- Indiana, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue
Big Twelve (6)- Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Kansas State, Texas A&M
Pac Ten (5)- Stanford, UCLA, Arizona, Washington State, USC
SEC (4)- Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Arkansas
Non-BCS (9)- Memphis, Butler, Drake, BYU, Kent State, St. Mary's, South Alabama, Gonzaga, Xavier

These teams make this list because they could all not win their conference tournament and still make the NCAA Tournament. Out of these 39 teams, 14 of them are expected to win their tournaments (and, obviously, freeing up 14 spots for bubble teams). However, just to be safe, I'll say one of them won't win their tournament and let another non-at-large team in. Therefore, we have 26 teams with an at-large birth, and another 31 teams that will get in for winning their conference tournaments. This leaves only EIGHT teams left for at-large births. And where else would you go to find those eight teams than none other than The Bubble List.
